Pics of a diesel CR-V's engine?

I would love to see some pics of the engine bay on a diesel CR-V.

If Honda would ever bother to get us a diesel in the US, I would buy 2 of them on day 1. I have owned Mercedes diesels and even a Dodge truck with the mighty Cummins turbo-diesel and love them for the torque and fuel economy.

Also, give me your thoughts on the engine. What do you like? Dislike? What do you really get for fuel economy? Acceleration?

What is the opposition to have more diesels in North America anyway? Is it government? Auto makers? Public opinion? Lobby groups? Someone must benefit from this policy.

In a nutshell...
The consumer and the government are to blame.

People got scared off by GM's diesel experiment in the mid 80's.
VW had a nice diesel in the Jetta but dropped it here in 2006 (as did MB) because of the ultra low sulfur diesel fuel requirement that was coming in 2007. They would not have been allowed to sell remaining cars after 1/1/2007 that were produced before the rule change. You will now see a number of new diesels coming out in mid 2007.

Bringing this back to the top.

One of you in Europe must own a digital camera and can post a pic or two of the darned engine in that diesel. Please? :)

Thanks.

Wow. That's a considerably different looking engine bay than my 04 gas model.
Much more crowded looking.

Can you even imagine the amount of work to swap that into a US spec gasoline car? Engine, tranny, ECU, wiring, motor mounts, on and on. Scares me just thinking about it. The starting bid price is a shocker too.

LOL! I would MOVE! I don't see how everyone puts up with the high tax rates, the VAT's, etc.

Err CTDi is Common-rail Turbo Diesel injection

The turbo is actually fairly vocal in the Honda engine.

The engine doesn't sound like other diesel engines - well none I've driven anyway.

I've had 2 other diesel powered cars and driven a few more besides, they all had a deep thrumming note at cruising speed, the Honda engine is pretty much silent at these speed (60 -70 mph)
