Dealer Paint protection

Of course at the end of the deal someone took us into their office and discussed the paint and anti-rust protection package. It came to $1390 which incuded the LOJACK installation. I had read someplace that it could be a rip-off but what the heck, we are in our later years and what is $1390 anymore? I heard that LOJACK can help out if it is stolen as long as they don't ruin the vehicle.

Sounds way high and LoJack doesn't even work in many smaller cities.

When is the last time you saw a rusted out Honda unless it is something left over from the early 90's or even older? Isn't outer body rust already covered for 7 years or more? Same with the paint "protection". Have it detailed by a pro every year instead.

If I had a car stolen, I don't think I would want it back. You may be better off getting the insurance money and buying a new one.
