Hey all,

First of all, I am male, 42, and a transplant to Utah for the last 25 years, and glad to be signing up for the CRV OC! T-Mac runs some sweet boards!

I have been involved in the EOC for about a year, and I am keeping the same username in this group. My wife and I were lucky enough to travel (drove the Element) to Ohio in June this year for the national Element / Ridgeline meet in Dublin / East Liberty. Also REALLY got lucky and were able to get involved in the East Liberty plant tour, and saw the CRV and Elements being built! What a blast, and btw, contrary to what you might have read "T-Mac" is a really nice guy.:D

Mrs. E_BikeR was determined to buy a 2009 Fit, until she drove one yesterday. She says the seats are really not too comfortable, and lots of other things not to her liking. Our original choice was the 2008 CRV for her, but with fuel cost and all.... the Fit seemed logical.

We have put a deposit on one of two remaining Glacier Blue Metallic 2008 EX in the state. If all goes as planned, we should be driving the new CRV off the lot tomorrow! Woo Hoo!

My first *new* Honda was a 1997 Civic Coupe, second was a 2001 CRV, and my third is the 2006 Element, so needless to say we are a Honda family.

Always good to have some experienced Honda hands on board! Like your wife, my wife and I tried a Fit last year. Hmmmm! I just couldn't see dragging my butt around four inches from the pavement for the next decade! This is our only vehicle and while the fuel economy was very attractive, I just could tolerate the size and the contortionist act required to sit in it. We also wanted an Element but the rear door closing behind the front door killed it for my claustraphobic wife. So we went with the V. No regrets.

Welcome to the club and let us know what happens with your wife's new V!

and here it is! She is happy, I am happy, it was a good Sept. 1st!

Funny... This V is from Japan VIN # JHL...... made 6/2008

This really surprised me, I thought they were all coming from East Liberty now, and swear that is what the folks on the tour said... maybe they meant that would start in 2009 model year. This is the color we saw being constructed on the East Liberty line the day of the tour. Felt it was appropriate to get this color.

Just brought home the newest addition to our family last night. I've waited 2 years for this, so "excited" is an understatement. I ended up with a Royal Blue Pearl - a color I thought I didn't want but I was so wrong, it is gorgeous! I've been reading through the forums this past week and I've already learned a lot and saved money: thanks to you guys, I knew the dealer's prices on extended warranty options were outrageous and that it wasn't a 'now or never' decision. Also, I'm glad I skipped through all the accessories knowing that I can find them much cheaper online.

I couldn't be happier with this decision. Now I'll just have to remember to look away from the TV as we start to see all the special Year End deals! Because finally, when I see a CR-V on the road, I don't have to think, "I want one of those" but "I'm IN one of those!" :D

Hey GONGRATS! I absolutely love this 2008 model, and I am sure you will too! There are so many positives in this model, and features have been handed down from the Acura line, that now the CRV really feels like a real player in what I think feels more like a luxury car than a rough riding SUV.

We picked up my wife's new V on Monday, and we are already on a long road-trip Thursday. My wife was kind, she let me drive it for nearly 400 miles today, through the mountains, on the freeway, 2-lane with safe passing areas, and WOW what a terrific performer. I had a CRV 2001 SE, before I jumped to the Element for my daily driver. So I skipped the middle generation, and I am so glad that I waited because this is an excellent improvement in function and fashion! Today driving through the mountains we were able to get an average of 29.2 mpg!!! The dash is exquisite to see at night, and the new features are great additions to an already terrific platform!

I still love my Element, and might get a 2009 E for myself with the expected new improvements, (have to wait and see), but for now, I feel the purchase was the smartest move we could have made!

Again "VTHills" congratulations on a smart purchase! Go drive it at night and you'll go "ooooo" too!

That's funny, I let my husband take it out Tuesday night and then to work yesterday & out last night again. He said, "What is this, I-can-do-what-I-want this week before you claim full custody?" Exactly! Gotta let the money provider get a little time in. ;) We're taking it on vacation from PA to VA tomorrow, especially with the hurricane this weekend, we can't wait to see how it handles on I-95 in bad weather!

We will expect a full report on how it handles, and how the ride feels to you upon your return.:D Enjoy the new V!

I hope to keep a photo diary of this trip to post when we get home.

Been a while since I visited the CRV site. Thought I'd post a pic of our ride high above Helena Montana last week, just before Thanksgiving:

My brother just bought some land up there.... really nice, and the new V did extremely well up and back from Utah.

Me too. I just traded my third Subaru (the official car of New England it seems) for a 09 EXL CRV. After 1200 miles in a month I can report I LOVE IT. It is far superior to the Forester I was driving and I intend to keep this car for many years! Congrats on your new V too.:)

What is your comparison as to "far superior"? No flame intended just very curious.

WELCOME ABOARD THE BOARDS! Yeah, despite a few nitpicks, I love my CR-V. It is very agile and SO easy to park. I impressed a friend of mine with how sharp and quick it can turn, and he drives a Chevy HHR! I love my CR-V and she is a great daily driver.
