Hi, I'm from the UK, seen a 51 plate CV-R and need someone to talk me out of buying it! I have a very sensible Renault Scenic but this car seems to be able to provide me with the same kid/dog friendly stuff I need. Unfortunately it's 2 years older, more money, and another 40 thousand on the clock! Is my heart ruling my head, especially in light of new British Road Taxes ? Someone tell me to wait until I can afford a nice CO2 friendly diesal, otherwise I'll be putting the deposit down at the weekend! (Oh , and thank you for allowing me join your forum!)

What's a 51 plate? What model year are you looking at? How many miles / kilometers does it have total, what sort of physical condition is the CR-V in? Sorry for all the questions, but your post is somewhat confusing, just the terminologies are different there in the UK.
** update - O.K., I looked into the meaning of a "51 plate" and it means the September or later 2001 model until early 2002.(is this right?) My last CR-V was a 2001 model year, and a VERY reliable SUV. I only sold it because I needed more interior room, and it was in perfect shape, and the down-payment on the new larger Element was a great deal for me.
