Is it worth the money to upgrade?

So, it looks like the OEM Cabin Filter for (atleast for) the 08' Crv is made by a company called MicronAir.

Honda also has an OEM part number for a cabin filter with activated carbon/charcoal.

So, heres the question: Is the activated charcoal/carbon cabin filter worth so much more money than the particulate one?

If you have pretty severe allergies or react to exhaust fumes, then maybe it's worth the money. The particulate filters are pretty good at taking out pollen and dust but won't deal with fumes (gaseous allergens) the way activated charcoal will.

Never tried the activated charcoal filters myself so no direct experience.

How frequent should we change this ? Have an

On our Cr-V the recommended interval is roughly 1 year or 12k miles.

However, as easy as it is to check the filter, simply check it every 10k miles, and replace as deemed fit.
