Allow me to introduce my 2001 Honda CR-V Sport from Australia.

It has been our trusty family chariot since day one and hasn't missed a beat in five years of ownership. During that time, we have taken her off the beaten track onto beaches, dirt & gravel roads, and thru water crossings (some quite deep!).

Perhaps soon you will get to see all of these pictures as they appear on this forum. But for now, here are some introductory images of our CR-V!

I like the pics of the sunrrof, most people don't get creative when they take pics like that. Its a nice change of pace. I was wondering if you could take a closer picture of the tailgate handle for me? We have a different one here in the states and I want to relocate the license plate but don't want to shave the handle off the back door. Your CRV looks good, nice and clean. I always liked the Step bars myself.

How's this? If you want an even closer angle, let me know.

Thats perfect, does it apear to be just a simple plastic piece that comes out with a few bolts? I think I could do some intersting things with the finishing touches on it, like making it a flush mount so that just the handle will stick out instead of that little lip all the way around it.

I'm not sure but it does look like just a plastic piece bolted onto the rear door. Here are a couple more close up shots for you (rather dirty!).

Yeah that looks very similar to the way mine is sitting on the door. I think its 4 bolts holding it in. But the Close ups are perfect now if I can find one that is not gonna cost me an arm and a leg in shipping to get it here to the states.

Was that a box for a Subwoofer in the trunk I saw there? lol.. :o

Hahaha, yes sir it is. Busted! It's a 12" Alpine S Type subwoofer

Haha. For one thing, it's not stock to have some "box" looking thing behind the back seat with a screw (one of them) screwing "something" onto the "box". lol. :P Plus on your engine bay picture, I saw the amp wires for the amp and sub. ;)

Haha. I also barely noticed that your antenna is a rubber ducky compared to the ghetto manual antenna I have lol. Those tweeters you have inside on the doors, are they the stock ones from the factory? How do they sound? Pretty decent?

Also, what kind of amp are you running and where did you put the amp? Just curious hehe :D

The tweeters are Alpine Type R's that come with the Alpine Type R mid drivers as splits. They sound pretty good, really gives the front stage some presence.

The mid drivers - I've taken the standard CRV cover off for the pic.

This is the Alpine head unit. Certainly not the latest and greatest these days but it certainly was back in it's hey day.

This is the amp - it's an Alpine V12 MRV-F540 (if I remember correctly!) and it is mounted underneath the picnic table. It drives the front splits and the sub. The rear speakers are simply run off the head unit which has more than enough power for rear fill.

And the Alpine Type S 12" sub.

Interesting. So that amp can really fit underneath the picnic table huh? I've been told (depending on size also) that most amps can't fit under there. I don't want my amp showing so I'm still deciding how I'm gonna go about putting a sub in my V.

Does the amp have enough "air" to breathe down there? Like how is it on really hot days? Definitely love your setup, and damn how clean is your V considering that the in between the doors are soo clean. lol

The MRV-F540 is a big ass amp, and it fits perfectly under the picnic table. As for ventilation, well, seems OK, never had any problems with cut outs or shut downs. Just keeps on pounding out the music.

Admittedly it doesn't get cranked up all that much these days since we have a young child that sits in the back seat now but before that it used to get the bass pounding quite often and it sounded a treat. That amp is quite powerful and it just cruises along these days at low volume, haha.

It's a fairly basic installation, nothing fancy like neons or custom enclosures, and the sub box is designed for easy removal in and out of the car when I need to carry stuff. That's how I intended it.

You can fit two or three amps stacked on top of eachother under the table. Space there isn't a problem, till you undertake building a sub box underneath it.

Oh wait, haha I'm so dumb. This would mean removing that "wet box" thing under the table huh hehe :o

Ya I get what you mean. I want a single 10 or 12 also, but then replacing the front speakers and putting in some tweeters would be nice also, to get that distinction between the highs and mids.

I'm not aware if they are even available in the USA. However they are definitely still available in Australia from Honda Spare Parts department.

can you get me a part number so I can try and see if it is available here? If I put those on my crv, it would be 3 inches off the ground on the sides!
