Well I dont know anything about sound systems so I just have a question.
I want some bump in the V (08 LX), nothing too fancy.
I was looking at the Infinity Basslink

Can I hook up one, maybe 2 of these to the stock LX cd player?
I want to keep the aux jack for my zune.
Will the stock radio be too weak for one of these babies?

TIA for any input you might have

ther is 2 ways to hook this system up. I always have the customer buy an 8 guage amp kit and I always hook it up as if it was a regular amp. I dont ever do the low level output stuff.

so do you think this would be worth doing? I dont really want to spend too much on a sound system. Would this be a good idea?

I'm just asking for a sincere opinion from someone that knows more than I do :o:o

I personally would never install one of these in any of my vehicles. But thats my peronal opinion. I have never been impressed with a bass link after I install them on customers cars. I would rather have a single alpine type-s.

thanks for you input illegal. The main reason i was looking into one of this was just to have more space available.
Do I need an aftermarket stereo to have that alpine setup?

Sorry for the n00b questions

nope. To put in any sub all you need is a line out converter. Usually $26

so in my cr-v right now i have a 10 inch polk audio subwoofer and a mtx road thunder amp, it has alot of bump, but not enough that your going to piss your neighbors or the police off, and the sub box is only about one square foot or so, so its not too big. persoanly this is not enought for me, but its all i could afford, i picked it up from my local pawn shop for about $130 all toghter. but be cautious as i bought a pioneer 10 inch sub from them, blew the hell out of it, i dont mean slight rattle, i mean it caught fire, and seeing as i knew the guys that worked there i just took the sub back and got the polk audio one for free- even exchange, but low and behold i came back with some of my buddies a day or two later and there it was on the shelf, now unless there was some holy act of god that revived the life in that speaker it was still totaled.

you have a bunch od circuit city stuff. Anyway, the box needs to be matched up for the sub in it. That polk might need 1 sg ft of air, the other one might have needed .75 sq ft of air. The wrong box can cut the sound of your system IN HALF, literally.

the alpine amp rated for that rms. It's prob $200 full price for 1 amp for 1 sub or less. You just have to decide, if it's only gonna be 1 or 2 subs.

well i think the type-s looks big enough to produce the sound I'm looking for, so I'll prob go with just one. I want to save space, too.
