Guess what's better than the overrated iphone

This is the next MP3 player that I will get this christmas I will buy it if my parents don'y get me it. (For the record I am 18 so I still get presents from my parents and because I have a 4 yr old sister I get them from santa also)

They also make MP3 players with GPS systems in them but I hear that they are a little slow.

Archos makes good MP3 players, and on the Anything But iPod forums many people swear by them. I've never used one, so I can't say how accurate that is.

ONE phone I had recently was supposed to be an "iPhone" killer, but it was nowhere near close to it. It was the LG Dare. It was a nice stylish and flashy phone, but I HATED it. I sold mine and went back to my trusty as hell LG VX-9800 (the original V).

On archos' website they list some of the features that the iphone does not have. I love archos, their quality used to be ify they have been turning out great products for a while now.

Just for curiosity what did anyone pay for their iphone.

I have seen the Ipod toutch 32GB for $399.00
The archos 5 with 120GB goes for $399.00

so I am thinking of getting the archos 5 with 250GB for $445.00
The Wi-Fi is cool for internet and it can play movies in HD quality and the batery lasts a long time. just some of my favorite points.

i got the 60 gig archos 5. i have ben using it on thia forum all the time now. it has a pop up full keyboard like the new blackberry. i am thinking of getting the GPS unit for it so i have gps in my V but i have heard mixed reviews on them. i was wondering if anyone has used an archos gps unit before and what your thoughts on it were.

does the archos just connect to Wifi for free? Once my sirius subscription is up, I will be looking for a new gadget

it is free wifi you just need a brodband internet connection like a home router or starbucks.

I'm not gonna lie, this is one sexy unit. I would love to stream TV and the like.

I love that the price point is competitive with the iPod Touch.

I don't know that this could be called the iPHONE killer though. It's not a phone! I love that my iPhone 3G is everything I need it to be. I agree that there are better devices out there for specific functions of the iPhone, but I haven't seen anything that fits the bill in terms of being an all-in-one device.

Its funny how everything is an "iPhone Killer" and then you find out it has half the functionality.

We need to remember that the iPhone is still relatively new, and all these other phone makers had all the time in the world to come up with similar designs but it took Apple jumping in to get it all moving.

To each his own, and if it works for you use it, but for me I am happy with my iPhone because it does every thing I need it to do.....

just have to say the iphone is definitely not overrated! it is an absolute wonderful piece of technology... thats all thank you.... :D
