Will preformance headers, exhaust, and Intake help to raise my MPG?
Some short ram Intake kits claim 5MPG i can hardly belive this, and other exhaust and header kits said 1-3MPG.
I seriously doubt that I can get 11MPG more than what I already get.
But if I can get 6MPG more does anyone think that this is possible i would like to get 31MPG (I usually get 25MPG mixed city and highway)
Does anyone think that this would be a good investment?
I know if these claims were true than they would be installed on all cars because the manufacturers would want to say that they could get phenominal numbers for MPG.

Not to sure about the cr-v, but it based off a civic platform I have a cold-air intake, header, and exhaust system on my daily 94 civic and I get 38 mpg in town, and I get close to 46 on the highway. So I owuld say yea it is possible.

The a stock 94 civic should get 25 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.
You got 38 city and 48 highway. SO you average 14.5 more MPG thats 49% raise in fuel economy. how fast are you driving when you got these results?

Well lets see I was driving from bremerton washington to great falls montana. i was driving around 70 in washington cause there speed limits are hella low they only allow 60 to 65, but when i was in montana the speed limit is 75. So when gased up about halfway through washington i was getting 46 mpg. So from there to some place in montana i filled up again and got about 43 mpg because I was doing 85 to 90. I would do 85 when I wasn't in the passes, and I would push it up a little faster through the passes. So it definetly isn't no 60 mph driving.

Sounds nice but with my V being 10yrs old I might have to wait for my next one. I don't know how much longer that it will last I am hopeing 10 more yrs but it has been it two really bad accidents so I will need some more time to think about these upgrades.

How many miles are on yours? I have a 2000 with 199,913 miles on it. Its still going strong. And it should have been totaled in the wreck we were in.

I have about 180,000 miles on my V. . I figure I drive roughly 1,200 miles a month (1,200 is too small of a number actually). I drive 60 miles a day, 300 miles a week(M-F), 1,200 a month (4 weeks)
The only damage to it was cosmetic so it wasn't totaled. But my mother wreaked the transmission in it probably 2 years ago and I had that replaced. The car still has about $4,000 in value in it.

I know people that have had their Honda's run well over 300,000 miles.
Sure, parts are going to wear out, but that is going to happen to any vehicle. My mom put 500+ miles a week on the V I have right now for 6 years. I mean, with the mileage you drive, it sounds like it is mostly highway which is rather easy.
If you want to, you should go out and do what you want to the V. I mean, you keep the stock parts and then you can replace them, and sale the aftermarket parts if you choose to sale the V later on.
Just food for thought.
