any owners in any hot areas this time of year? I'm contemplating a black/black (cloth) CR-V but am wondering if that's risky for the peak summer months. I sold my black leather interior BMW because it just couldn't get cool enough, quick enough for my kid in the back seat. This summer kid #2 will be back there.

Not crazy about the lighter color exteriors, nor the yellowish "ivory" cloth. I wish the black exterior came w/ a grey cloth interior.

thanks.

For starters, go the User CP (control panel) and then to Edit signature.
Input your V's year, model, and fill in your location so people know where you live. A black V in Tucson, AZ is a whole lot different than Central Canada....

I don't have a CR-V yet. I'm thinking of getting an '07. I live in Maryland, where it's usually decent weather but we do get near 100 some days.

I'm hoping to hear from anyone w/ an '07 that lives in a hot climate (realizing the time of year) who can give an opinion on their a/c system's capabilities.

thanks.

Will you have tinted windows or stick with the greenhouse effect?

Go for the tinted windows if you don't want to be patient. My 99 V takes 20-30 minutes to cool down on Denver, CO 100+ F days with the A/C on blast. I sometimes wondered if the A/C was bad, but the dealer assured it me it takes time to cool down the car (probably low BTUs).

My 04's A/C and heating system is fantastic It cools the car very quickly in the NY summers I have been down to Baltimore with it and the car keeps cold, the heat on full blast is similar to a hairdryer. THe only issue is the CR-V dosen't have a rear A/c terminal so the back seats rely on the front vents which is an annoyanc but the car cools down very quickly. Get rear tints though otherwise it will be a real pain to cool.
