07 Oil Leak?

I have a seven week old EX-L AWD-AT. Is it normal to have to add 1/2 a quart of oil when the vehicle is still in it's break in period? The car has 1989 miles on it.
After reading about rear main seal issues I'm just a little nervous. Especially since I couldn't spot an oil leak on my driveway as it was sprayed with sealer during the last warm spell here in new england.

It's not abnormal, if that helps you. If you don't see any oil leakage, it is entirely possible that it used a little during break-in. Just keep an eye on it.

My 07 AWD developed an oil leak with less than 200 mi on the odometer. To make a long story short I ended up taking it in three different times. Ultimately had to have the rear main seal replaced. They had to drop the transmission and mess with the steering. My problem is fixed, but I'm sort of queasy about the rear diff problems popping up. I worry because I ordered a front wheel drive EX and was offered AWD EX as "coming in sooner" I took the bait. It ends up being one from Japan. Wish me luck asking Honda Headquarters for extended warranty!

Hope it works out for you. When you call Honda Corp, be really polite and mention your loyalty to Honda in the past (if you are/were) and that you are concerned about the long-term reliability...
