I bought 2007 CR-V EX-L Model and had a fun until Yesterday.
I have two problem with Stereo System and looking for someone who has same problem.
1. MP3 Encoding problem.
After couple hundred miles drove Yesterday, the system failed to play MP3 files
from CDR (Hitachi Maxell Brand), like skipping sound, singing with hiccups and Disk Read Error.
I stopped and shut the engine for an hour and tried coolong down the system and CDR itself...
It did not work. Next day(after 8 hours) in the morning, I started to play same CDR (MP3 files)...
There is no problem.
I suspect this is heating  problem on stereo CPU and Encoder unit,
But I can not show duplicate problem at dealer, because I need to drive couple hundred miles again
before I show the problem.

2. AUX Ground Problem
Using "DC-AC inverter" for DVD Player and connect stereo out to CRV AUX
will make very nasty noise on stereo system.
This is not special situation... The children in back seat wants to see the handy DVD Player
and need a power souce, then connect audio signal to AUX.
Easy for problem duplication, but the dealer can not fix this problem.
Because this is more like design issue.

Does anybody have same problem ?
I want to have company who can help me to make a claim for these problem.
By the way, Honda America does not have web customer service or
open e-Mail, this is the reason for I am here. 800 number does not work for me.
Thank you for reading my long report

If you suspect it is a heating problem, why don't you simply turn on the car's heater and let it go full blast with the stereo on? That should get it plenty hot inside without driving, in a few minutes.

hint: Go to the User Control Panel and edit your profile to reflect your location. People that may be trying to help you don't know if you are in Northern Canada, California, Australia, etc. Their advice and tips may vary dependent upon where you are.

Thank you for advice.
I am in mid-west. Driving around IL-OH-MI area.
As I said, I stopped and shut the engine off for an hour.
But it did not work for the day I got a problem.
Also, my air condition system was on middle... one step on red side.
If it was the reason, the stereo system will not survive in the summer.

Before worrying too much, try a different CD. I don't carry a whole lot of faith in "home-burned" CD's. There are too many variables that come into play. Your computer may be able to burn and read anything it burned just fine, but your CD may not play as well in another machine and the other machines CD may not play as well in your machine... and so on.

I turned on heater and full hot air blast for 30 minitues.
I sweated under 30F temp on my way to home Today.:D
The result: the problem was not appeared,
but I think I found the reason or how to duplicate the problem.
When I found this problem, the CDR was very very hot and
full heater air blast for 30 min experiment did not make any problem.
This means the heating problem was generated by stereo itself.

I will check following condition in couple weeks and will get back with your guy.

1. Continuous MP3 playing while driving
2. Using SVC high setting
3. Volume as much as higher I can stay with
4. All of MP3 files must be higher bit rate (like 320kbps)
These are what I did and could remember.

If anybody has same problem, please let me know!

It Happend again!
Stopped by dealer and showed the problem to service technician. He understood the problem, then issed service ticket and tried to get new car stereo.
After long Waiting for over 40 minitues, the guy got back to me and said "Honda will not allow to order new stereo unless "3 CD checking process" failed that Honda will send to the dealer.
The service technician did full air blast test that I reported in last thread WITHOUT my permission.
He told me that I am waiting for fax back from HONDA for comfirmation of this order... FOR OVER 40 MIN. and the result was 3 CD test...
OK I will wait for it...

I am not sure how the tech didn't have "your permission" to do what is needed to test the unit so he could get it replaced? You gave the dealership explicit permission to test your car in any reasonable and customary manner when you took it in.

In any event, although this is the first I have heard of a "3 CD test", it certainly makes sense. Why would Honda (or any car maker) replace stereos based upon one particular CD not playing properly?

1. The service tech. said that wait for few minutes to get fax back confirmation from Honda for stereo order.
I asked him what was going on after 10 min.
While waited for over 40 min, I asked 3 more time, no info.

2. replace stereos based upon one particular CD not playing properly?
2RedV's >>> You can not say that !
My EX-L comes with 6 magazine CD/CDR player.
All of 6 CD-R with MP3 files started unreadable
after something happened while driving.
The 6 CDRs are always in same magazine, never take out,
without visible scratrches and plays FINE IN NEXT DAY!
also, YESTERDAY

This is not problems like a copied CDR disk is not same quality with original CD or any type of scratch problem.
I am using MP3 on CDR >>> This stereo comes with DECODER TO PLAY MP3 LIKE IPOD!

Every owner waited this function for loooong time.

Your "Aux Ground Problem" sounds like a ground-loop.
Ways to possibly fix it:
1. Place a ground loop isolator on the audio out from the dvd player before it goes into the head unit.
2. Or make the power connection share the same ground point with the head unit. This will require modification though.

After 3 times visited to the dealer, I could duplicate the problem with their 3 sets of TEST CD.
The service dept. ordered my new stereo system.
I hope it work for me!

F.Y.I.
If you have a problem with playing MP3 CDR on new CRV.
Please do not say, "Skipping Problem"
Most of people think that skipping problem is came from quality of CD or
the problem of duplicated CDR.
(They do not know new stereo is CDR playable)
Just say, "MP3 decoding Error".
