Anyone installed a set of these? Looking at options to assist my 3 year old daughter with climbing in without my wife having to lift her into the car all the time. I've seen the pics at H and A -- if anyone else has installed them with pics, i'd appreciate a look.
thanks

WHile running boards MAY assist a little one in getting and out, they are a royal pain to adults. They don't stop door dings as they sit too low to stop a door, they catch all kinds of crud under them which is tough to get off and when you, as an aduly, try to get in and out, you will undoubtedly touch your pants, dress, etc. on it and get dirty and they hinder ground clearance.
Other than those little annoyances, they do look good on some vehicles and will help somewhat (dependent upon design) to keep dirt, etc. from flying up on the side of your vehicle.

ahh yes, the dirty pant leg problem -- i'd forgotten about that, thanks. with another child on the way, i'm pushing to replace the V with an Oddysey. However, my wife loves the V and has the usual misgivings about becoming a 'soccer mom' driving a minivan (gasp).
Thanks for your input.

As much stigma as the soccer mom with a mini-van thing has become, we find ourselves missing ours. Wife had a 98 Dodge Grand Caravan with the bigger of the 2 V6's. Put 100,000 relatively trouble-free miles on it within 3 years. It was just so darned functional and it got 23mpg on the highway.
That being said, if Honda came out with a diesel for the V or the Pilot, we're in for 2 of them.

i was telling someone yesterday that honda needed to drop a turbo diesel into the odyssey. seems i remember somewhere reading that honda was going to bring their first ever diesel to the US in 2008; i don't recall what model.

I agree with the negative comments re: running boards. Same with side bars.
May look good when clean, but a real pain in the rear.
Never again. Been there, done that. :D

I think side steps and running boards are a great addition to any SUV, truck, or van. I am working with one of my vendors (ATS Design) to come up with a different styled Running Board. I am not too pleased with the OE Honda designed ones, so I requested that the running boards be wider. (The OE boards are very very very slim). Release date for the ATS Design running boards will be coming soon. The just picked up a CR-V today to do a test fit from their prototype.

My buddy has running boards on his '05. I hate them. Would even be worse if they were wider. Can't get in without getting your pants dirty.
Don't need them, don't want them. :D

Just saw your post and was wondering if there was any recent news on the ATS Design running boards?
