In previous posts I mentioned that I am having an ongoing problem with my TPMS light (NOT the low tire pressure light) coming on after I travel 20 highway miles....Been to the dealer 6 times, yes 6 times. They've put hundreds of miles on my car (using my warranty) and my gas only to tell me now....
they believe my 3G iPhone/Charger may be interferring with the frequency???
Are they crazy? Has anyone experienced anything like this or heard of such a thing? (I have an 08 CRV.)

have you tried yourself of not having your iphone in the car and see if the tpms light problem still exist?
i've never heard of such a problem but it is possible coz the sensors are wireless.
just like in my car... sometimes when i received a text message or when my phone is about to ring and my radio is turned on - the station would start to buzz a bit. when i hear this, i know i'm either about to get a call or a text message is about to come in. doesnt happen all the time but it happens.
it also happens in my other cars, not just my crv.

i had a similar problem with an 08 crv and 08 accord. tpms light would come on when the radar detector was mounted at the top of the windshield . but beware i have dealt with many tpms problems and it is not always the case with the electronic gadgets customers carry . tpms and low tire light can both come on and have crazy failure codes. honda definitely has not worked the bugs out the systems yet by all means . next time the tpms light comes on ask the dealer to tell u what code it is and what sensor is not responding . also when they do this tell them to go into tpms datalist and check actual tire pressure against sensor tire pressure at each wheel .if u have a tire 1 failure code for instance . tell them to break down each wheel and read the sensor id code off each sensor and replaced failed sensor code instead of some radom part . hondas test tool for pinging the wheels bites .
did i type that out loud. filthy mechanics

Similar to the original posting on this thread, I have had my car about a year (08 CRV) and since the end of September 08 I have been having trouble with the TMPS light. I have had it reset, replaced, and all the sensors redone. The light keeps coming on. Here is the thing, the light only comes on when I am driving it. It doesn't come on when the techs drive it (and they have driven it a lot).
I do own a 3G iPhone and I have a car charger but the light comes on when the phone isn't charging or being used. I also have it set so that the phone doesn't pull information down or search for networks which means that if I am not using the phone it shouldn't be pinging anything for information. I do keep the charger plugged in all the time, but only rarely have I plugged in the iPhone (and the TPMS light has never come on while it was charging).
I am stumped, the Honda techs are stumped, and I am now thinking of looking for a new car because I hate having my car in the shop this much.
Any ideas?

Check this article http://www.underhoodservice.com/Article … myths.aspx , paying attention to the part about non-continuous RF interference being not likely to cause TPMS malfunctions. This is a Ford engineer, but hopefully Honda will take a similar approach to ensure their systems are not vulnerable to RF interference.
I understand your frustration and I am going through the same run around, but it should be put on Honda to fix the problem.

I'm actually on the phone with Honda corporate about this issue right now. It took 9 months for our dealership to diagnose this problem (the TPMS light comes on at highway speeds when my iPhone charger is plugged in to the outlet). The first customer service person I'm speaking with has no idea what to do. I'm now being transferred to her Manager.
