I have new, tan Honda All Weather Mats in my CR-V. I am having difficulty cleaning them. I have used several detergents including Simple Green and Oxi Clean. I have applied these products in various strengths with a brush. No matter what approach I use, there are always areas that are a little darker and still appear stained. Any suggestions?

I have heard about this before....
The rubber is stained and there isn't much you can do. I would let the simple green sit for a while then scrub, see if that does anything.

Thanks for the suggestion. Appears the light color does stain.

I use Bleach-E-White (spelling?) white wall cleaner on my all-season mats. Works better than anything else. I haven't used it on the V's yet, just on the last Civic's and on the Elements (black and gray). I've never tried it on the tan though. Give it a shot.

It is a nice contrast as well! :)

I have used Westley's Bleach White for years. It does work great for cleaning White Wall or White Letter Tires, but use caution as it can also discolor/bleach when used on Floor Mats if applied unevenly and left soaking too long. I apply it and immediately use a brush to evenly disburse the cleaner and equalize it's strength.
You could also try an "Armour All" like product to see if it helps hide any discoloration, but then you may have issues with the mats being slippery.

I wouldn't Armor All anything. That stuff is awful and plus on the mats it would make them slippery and dangerous.
For the mats you can try a general all purpose cleaner named "Awesome". You can find it at your friendly Dollar store. Let it sit for a minute and then clean. We use it for all sorts of car and house cleaning. But be warned, DO NOT USE ON ANY LEATHER. It WILL strip the dye off the leather and leave it spotted.
Good luck with cleaning the tan mats.
BTW, if your looking for a great vinly/dash cleaner, use Aerospace 303. You can find it at your local boating supply store. It's for protecting items that are in the sun all day. It has a SPF rating or 40. Now that's dash protection without the shine too. Nice matte look. Just don't get this stuff on your gauges, as it my mare the clear plastic.
