We have a new 2007 CRV-EX. We just had minor parking lot "bump". The car has been in the dealer's body shop for over two weeks now. They are waiting for a bracket for the bumper. They cannot seem to find one anywhere. They keep ordering the part and it hasn't arrived. It seems the car is so new replacement parts are not readily available. At least this is what the dealer thinks.

Certainly understandable and certainly not a unique issue for any manufacturer. It's one of the spoils of buying the newest.

But dammit. CR-V's are being built in Ohio. They have parts.

I was waiting for two parts. A bumper bracket and a windsheild washer pump motor. Now they're telling me the washer part is not due until 2/12. I brought the car in on 1/16.
I also made a call to Honda Customer Relations. I got the contact information through the Owners Link. I talked to somebody this morning. She said she would investigate and get back to me later in the day. I called late in the afternoon and she had gone home for night. Not only that, she will be on vacation until Monday!
The dealer's body shop is probably just as frustrated as I am. I don't even want to think about the insurance company. My rental allowance will be running out soon. I mentioned to the body shop that I had an idea. Pull the part from one of the cars on their lot and put in my car. When the part finally arrives, they can put back in their car.
