Hey folks, I know we are in football season, the weather is getting cold and basketball season is upon us too, but what do you all think of having a Maryland/DC/VA regional meet? Also, the DE & PA folks too if u wish.
We can just meet up at a commuter lot on the weekend and drive to see the Fall foliage in the blue ridge area (Near Luray caverns in VA) or we can head up 2 Annapolis and chill near the Chesapeake Bay. What say you, thou seekers of motoring thrills and excited air intakes? Let me know...
Even if we just make plans and put it all together for a '2009 Spring Fling CRV Thing' it's all good. It would be nice to see some local VeeHeads and exchange resources and ideas. Im up to organizing it with some help from more senior folks - if that will get things going. Happy Fall/Holiday season!

I might be down, but since I don't check here often you might want to send me PM with details when the time comes....

Thanksgiving and Christmas plans might get in the way, but definately a local east coast meetup would be cool... 2009 sounds better as my V is still damaged and I'm still trying to get some reasonable quotes to fix it.

well I will be at MIR on sunday for imports vs. domestics, but I'm not driving my V, I'm going up with my friend in his supra.
I used to put on meets, but we lost our location (it got to big:) ) But if I throw a car show or meet together anytime soon, (or if I'm judging a show) before or after the holidays, I will let you guys/gals know.

Illegal,
that would be great. We don't have to wait to do a CRV only show or event. If you have some event, and u think a 'CRV Corner' will be cool for the folks to tailgate and have some fun at... then so be it. When you put on the meets before, can you give us an idea of how u set it all up, please?
I will however, start planning with some of you - so we can have a full blown Spring CRV Fling in maybe March of 2009. So officially I am now opening the floor for ideas: A - Where do we meet? B - Where should we caravan to, if at all? C- What games, shows, competitions etc.? D- What 'gear' or stuff do we need? Hats, T-shirts, keyfobs? Let's keep it simple, affordable but fun.
Since I am a graphic designer, I will do 2 versions of a possible T-Shirt/Logo and post them on the board before the holidays hit us. Does that sound ok?
For now, these are the first rough ideas I have. Nothing is solid until we all say it is so... so this is just virgin brain droppings for now:
1. We could meet up at the New Carrollton Metro Parking Lot (easy to access from MD, DC or VA). It is a HUGE parking lot open on weekends. Alternatively, there are some other large commuter lots in both MD and VA that are cool.
2. We can caravan over to the SkyLine/Blue Ridge area in Virginia and just soak in the scenery. Or drive to Annapolis and meet up at the SandyPoint State Park and have a cookout and chill on the Chesapeake Bay beach, or we could head up past Frederick, MD up to Hagerstown and chill in the mountains for the day.
3. Possible games include, CRV and Honda trivia, "Sketch-A-Ride" instant CRV concept car design, Best in class competition (Mods, Street car, Engine, Detailing etc.), also a photo competition (Where has your Vee been to?), vollyball, basketball, maybe airsoft. Of course funky music to compliment.
4. After all is done, Raffle out some goodies, hand out T-Shirts, Prizes and other gear and hit the road to cruize back home in Veetopia.
What say you then my Veople? Any idea and all ideas are appreciated and fit for review and dessimation... just kidding.... ;) Bring it on!
Thanks and happy motoring

Sounds great! I'm definitely feeling like all of what you're saying is a good idea.
I'm partial to meeting up and then taking a drive out in Western Maryland (personally there is a trail I'm dying to go on which is stock V-capable), best in class awards are a must, same with airsoft :) (Have a Classic Army G3)
Oh and as a side note, I just got my CR-V new shoes and I so excited to get them on tomorrow, hopefully they will fit (215/75R15 General Grabbers...with spots to put metal studs!) it looked like it would probably fit, but if not I will have to get spacers for the suspension.

check my sig for the meets I used to put on, and I was def thinking of meeting up for a non crv only thing, just for an excuse to get together earlier, but a only crv meet should be a must as well.
edit: looks like the site is not up anymore

the last car show I put on for Best buy for the Boys and Girls club raised (if I remember right) $26,000. Here is the flyer...

the show was put on by the three main people, me, ryan and bj, the actual meets that we held monthly took more people, this was our original Mega Meet group....

Thank you for sharing that incrdible flyer. Very well done and the group shot is nice as well. I am glad that we have your expertise to fall back on.
As soon as you know the details of your next event (I know u said one was this weekend) just post it right up here so we can have a heads up to prep for it. Being a family man like u (I think) i always have a 'honey-do' list and usually plan a week or 2 in advance. That way we can have our rides detailed and make u proud when we show up! :)
Again, thank you - Illegal, Josh, everyone who is chiming in... ask your other Veeheads in DC/MD/VA/PA/DE to jump in and let us know what they wanna do. It's Spring 2009 - so NOW is the time to get the ideas going. Also, if u post up on HondaSUV.com, let folks know what we are doing, ok?
Happy motoring, and let's keep up the posts. Oh btw Josh congrats on getting your toy some new shoes! I had to get fatty ones to replace my OE. I went with Bridgestone and I think it's the same configuration as yours.
Anyways, have a great weekend folks!
