From the Honda site it seems the rear seats are permanent.
Just wondering if an actual owner of a 2007 CR-V has had any luck with removing them? And then how easy are they to reinstall?
I have an Element at the moment. Cargo capacity is a must. A slightly more refined ride would be nice (that's not a petrol pig). That, or I just have to wait for the 2008 Element...

The seats can be removed, but not in a couple of minutes like a mini-van. Since they fold flat/or nearly so, is that an issue?

So the rear seats on a 2007 CR-V can be removed? Is it an operation that requires a wrench and 5 minutes? Fold down seats are OK, but there's times when I really will need the cargo space. Anyone know for certain?
This new V seems very refined and definitely the tops in it's class for practicality, cool features and fuel efficiency. I'm pretty sure I want one!

It definitely requires a wrench! I don't see how that little extra cargo room should make the difference between buying one or not though? Maybe an Odessey would make better sense for you?

Thanks 2Red!
The Odyssey has no 4x4 and costs too much for this poor man...

I'm disappointed that Honda did not give the new CR-V seats backs that fold flat. Several of the competitors have them.

I figured out how to have a 2007 CR-V with flat folding seats!
All one has to do is pay about $10K extra and get the same frame and motor with Acura badging. It's called an RDX and it's sweet. 240 ponies out of the same motor as the CR-V!

I was considering a Ford Edge and their seats fold flat. But, there is no thigh support(so they fold flat). They would be very uncomfortable for an adult on a long ride.

Try page 98 of your Owners Manual. Is that what you mean?

How come with the same motor the CR-V has so much less HP? Is there some way to change this? are you sure its the same???

The RDX is for those who want acceleration at the cost of gas mileage. That turbo will suck more gas than the RAV4's V6. With the Acura you also get better handling at the cost of ride quality. The V is an all around vehicle. I like it's compromise of ride and handling. If cushy ride and power is your priority, get the RAV with the 6 cyl. If you want the great handling and power, go for the RDX or BMW.
