Have been extensively researching availability of low profile roof ski cargo boxes for 07 CRV. I have dealer installed Honda rail system on roof. Yakima and Thule seem to be the only readily available brands in Central Ontario, but their boxes are all too tall. Most brands are 15" or higher, which is not very good for those with low garages. Inno brand is extremely pricey and/or not readily available. Europe seems to be the only place to get a decently fitting product, but I'm not paying the high shipping cost to get them over to Ontario. European models Packline FX-SUV, AutoForm Explorer, and Skiguard 850 Touring models all seem to fit the 07 model nicely. Anyone know where to get these in Canada, more specifically Ontario. Heck, I'd even drive to the northeastern U.S. if I could get one.

Thule Ascent 1100 will fit 2007 CRV, however....... the rear hatch will bump into it if fully extended, and....... it will be bending the rear mounted antenna. Will probably be installing one regardless of these issues. Hatch will still open 90%, and antenna can be bent down or possibly replaced with a shorter bee-sting style one.

Yeah, I seen your other post about the hatch and antenna in another thread about a day later. Could always install a shark fin style antenna. Is there anywhere the box can be moved forward more to allow the hatch to be open all the way?

I have not purchased a CRV yet, still doing my homework on them.

Alright I may be biased because I sell and use Thule but go with anything from the Thule ascent range they are low profile and massive so you can jam a ton of skis in there and still fit the car in the garage the box sits 11" high. There are a million similar products but I feel much better going with thule, the fact of the matter is you get a much better built and designed product with Thule anything els is a long way off Yakima makes some nice products but they're to fad/image focused they make pretty racks and cargo boxes that change every year Thule makes a product that looks fine and just tweaks every year (Porsche 911 anyone). Furthermore Thule warrants their products better they are an all American company and their reps actually know something and want to help you find the right product. OK I am a little biased all these products will do the same job just the Thule has many more creature comforts that as a former sport rack user I can attest make a world wide difference and are worth the cost although if you saw my discount you would want to punch me in the face. My view buy an Ascent 1100 and be done with it as the others have said, also are you using Honda or Thule cross bars I ordered the rapid tracker with the rapid cross bars they sit higher than the Honda's allowing a little more clearance and are easy to remove

I have a small Yakima that locks and has the clamps built in that:) can be adjusted in min. Don't worry about not getting into the garage! Just remove it when you get home. Only takes a minute. Cheers, Hal:)
