I own a 2007 Honda CRV-Ex-L with Navi.
The maps are created by NavTeq and are atleast 3-4 years outdated from that current model. Alphine USA which upgrades or Navteq which provides the software have both deflected responsibility to Honda.

I suppose Honda known for its 'great quality' and realibility should own up the fault for poor QA and Testing and provide all CRV-Owners with a updated DVD free of Charge... Is it not fair.

How about spark plugs? Gasoline..after all, you buy the gasoline and use it, how come it isn't replaced for free...you paid for it after all....check the version you have..(it's on the DVD). The latest version (pending a new release) is 6.62c (for the 2008 anyway).

I have only the EX-AWD with no built in NAVI,
So, when I bought this MAGELLAN 4040, it came
with a CD that allows the user to get an update
periodically, at no extra cost.

Interim upgrades are free just like Magellan but major one cost (and I'm reasonably sure that Magellan is the same way).

Roman,
I have the Magellan 4040 and it works great. I've had it for a little over a year. I have gone to the Magellan site and updated the instruction part of the software twice.
About a week ago, I bought the CD for $79 to allow me to update the map. It took about a half hour without a problem. The only reason I got the map update was because this was second update since I purchased the machine.

JIM - This magellan 4040 we're using is so perfect, simple
to use, ease of programing and really so easy to use.
I think its a no brainer, would'nt you agree?
I've had it only for 6 months, so I might do the update
by April of '09............:D:D

My friend, Read my original request.. I am wanting something 'REPLACED' as it was originally defective. I got 2007 Models with maps as old as 2003-2004... Do you have some sense to understand as to how i can depend on a premium map system with outdated models. Hence I think you can replace my dvd for free if you are so much as shooting your mouth without thinking twice. ..

OK, so I've read this complaint twice on this forum now and I've been on here for 15 minutes.... I don't condone this but the updated DVD can be DL'd with any bit torrent prog. and burned to DVD.

VERY Illegal and Immoral!!!
