Where did you mount the antenna? I use one on my 99 a lot and have been using a mgnetic mount located at the very back of the vehicle. I would rather have something more permanent which would also get better transmit and receive range, although I don't want to drill a hole in the middle of the roof. That would be a most logical location for range issues though.

I've got a CB too, so far without an antenna. I think my best best would be to mount one on the spare tire rack.

I'm a Ham Radio Operator So I would Opt for a 2M/440CM band Ham radio in mine instead of a CB if I were to put anything like that. And as far as the antenna goes I would opt for Magnetic so it could be removed for Car Washes and stuff

Be careful, VERY careful with using any AT fluid other than Honda's. Many a person has tried to "better" it and come up on the bad side of the deal. Pay attention to any notion of harsher shifts or delayed shifts. Since the RP stuff costs about the same as genuine Honda fluid, you may want to consider a switch back at some point. Glad to see you didn't go with the Amsoil fluid though.

Acually the Tranny Shifts smoothly now. The fliud that I dropped out of it was almost black. I don't think it was changed at the dealership as they claimed it had been. I will definately keep a close eye on it though. I intend to change it a few times in very short intervals to clean out the torque converter.

I initially started with a Magnetic mount antenna for the CB on my 2000 CRV but after i forgot to take it in one night and came out the next morning to find my magnetic antenna stolen i switched to a cargo rack mount (available from radio shack) with a base loaded Whip.
Note: If your cargo rack is insulated with rubber between the rack and the roof you will need to get a "no-ground cargo mount" which is little more expensive (from Firestick antennas or radioshack) or you need to ground the mount.
Mount the Cargo rack mount in the rear of the roof rack and run the coaxial cable into the cargo hold of your CRV then run it to the CB. --Approx. Installation Time 10 minutes--
Another option is the no-ground bumper mount from Firestick antennas which you can mount on the rear side bumper of your CRV. Buy a color fiberglass antenna to match the color of your CRV and it will look good. Mounting this way prevents clearance issues and with the color matched antenna it looks like an OEM factory installed antenna.
Just remove the rear bumper, drill the holes, mount the antenna mount, and run the coaxial under the bumber into the rear cargo hold and run it to the front of the CRV. --Approx. installation Time 15 - 30 minutes--

Another option is mounting the CB antenna on the spare tire mounting.
NOTE: On the 2000 CRV when you open the rear window it will hit the antenna so you will need to be careful.
Yet another option is if you have TGM or BULL bars on your CRV you can purchase CB antenna brackets for your bar. They are about $20.00 and are available from http://www.4by4connection.com/bulbarac.html

Firestick makes a good product. They also give you a plug that fits on the end of the antenna base so that you can keep the contacts dry and free of corrosion when you have the antenna off.

i mounted my whip antenna on my roof rack, after a while it started to look funky, so i attached it to the spare tire, now before you say "what if you get a flat?" i keep the tools with me to remove it, two bolts and its off. plus now every time i go through mcdonalds i dont get cursed out for breaking the drive through lights haha. but im about to upgrade to a larger whip so i might just have to take my lazy ass inside :)
