chrome tail light covers

Hi all I found some tail light covers for my '98. They are chrome unfortunatly:( and I was wondering if there was a way to repaint them black without the black paint chipping and peeling off. Or if there was a certian type of paint that wont chip or peel off of the chrome.

You should check at one of the craft stores to see if they have a special paint for chrome otherwise you will have to sand them down, primer and paint to make sure paint doesn't peel off.

you could looking into powder coating. I dont know the cost as it varies from area to area and shop to shop.

I do like powdercoating and there are quite a few shops that I can look into by my house but I dont want to have to pay up the extra cash.

I just cant find any black ones. I don't like chrome on any type of suv that much unless it is a family hauler like the gen 3 CRV.
