Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 2002 crv and I love driving it. Its also a stick. But I have noticed that when its really cold and I start the car in the morning, I the fuel gauge shows no fuel and the orange fuel warning light comes on. As the car starts to warm, the needle starts going up and eventually the light goes away. Seems like the float or whatever it uses to measure the fule level freezes. Anybody else seen this problem? Is it serious? I would like to know how fuel I have and I the tank was full when this happened, incase you were wondering :)

I have also noticed a small popping noise when pressing and releasing the clutch. The mechanic said that the master clutch cylinder needs to be replaced. Any one seen this one?

Thanks.

It can't be freezing - that would imply enough water in the tank to cause the car not to even run. Try a bottle of Heet or similar product. If it doesn't work, then replacing the float assembly may be your only option. If it was me, I wouldn't worry about it. I know how many miles I can go on a tank and go by my trip odometer more so than the fuel gauge.

As to the clutch master cylinder, have you tried flushing the fluid in it? It is simply DOT 3 brake fluid. It probably has a bunch of gunk built up since most people never bother to change the fluid. It would be well worth a try before you replace the clutch master cylinder.

I never saw this reply till today. I thought it would be emailed to me. :o I just posted a thread about the master clutch cylinder. The warranty company is refusing to cover it saying its a wear and tear item. Would you classify it as one? Thanks.
