We have had the nasty bad weather here which means lots of cinders and salt on the roads......how aften should this be washed off? I have been going through the automatic everyother day....I didn't know if this was too much....how long does it take for that road grime to do damage? I am thinking I may be getting a little anal about this. What are your thoughts??

Corrosion resistance has drastically improved over the years. Remember cars from as late as the early 80's would start rusting within a couple of years. I have yet to see more than a couple minor rust spots on any CR-V from the 97-2000 years unless the rust was caused by chips or an accident. I thought I was anal - I wash mine about every 4th or 5th day during the snow/ice/slush season. I don't like showing up at a customer's place with a nasty looking vehicle. (image, ya know) :)

It os good to know that I am not the only one obssessed with my ride's good looks! I am going to slowly wean myself off the car wash....at 5 to 7 dollars a pop it is getting a little expensive.

Nah, you aren't the only one. Once a week for me, More if needed. Then I use a detail spray on it and tire shine

Wow. $5-7 each time? I just go to a spray-it-yourself special and spend $1.25
in quarters. I just use rinse for the 1st 4 minutes and switch to the spot-free (de-ionized water) for the last minute so it doesn't spot and it dries faster.
