I will be picking up my 2007 CR-V with NAV soon. I was just curios about the Nav's unit DVD. I know the purpose of the unit is to read the map DVDs but will it work with regular DVDs? If not, will there be a mod to make it play DVDs?
Also know that it is illegal in the US to do such thing while the vehicle is moving. Not that you don't see this happening out there.

Navigation will not play movies. There is no mod and will not be one in the near future. At least from a factory stand point. I know that it is illegal in California to have any type of T.V. or movies playing while you are driving. You can have them play if only they are behind the 2 front seats.

there is a company that lets you modify your factory nav screen to play DVD movies. It is a simple switch or something like that. you do have to have a spearate player for it to play. I will try to find it again and repost.

Called them and they said their website is out of date and they do support many Honda navigation systems. However, he couldn't confirm for an '07 CRV because they haven't been tested. They would need photos of the nav system and some information to determine if it's like any of the other nav systems in the other vehicles.

Therefore, it may be possible. If anyone wants to assist them with this, give them a call.
