Hey guys,
I am new here and a brand new 2008 CR-V LX owner. I have a question that might get flamed buy im going to ask anyway :) . Be kind.
I didn't get the factory alarm activated and don't have the extra money to get it done by the dealer. Other then purchasing a aftermarket one, is there a way for me to activate it my self?
Thanks for any help and this site is great!

My guess is the alarm they would have activated is an aftermarket one. Honda doesn't offer one for the LX model (I have no idea why they don't) and it is quite common for dealers to have an outside company come in and install alarms in all of their vehicles.
Generally they then pull the brain from the alarm if you don't opt for it. Sometimes they leave it and just don't give out any remotes. An alarm place might be able locate the wiring/control unit and see what/if there is installed.
Someone on here may be able to point you in the direction that the alarm may be installed too.
