Hello, and good morning to everyone from the boards. My name is Jeff and I am proud to have just purchased a 2006 CR-V EX. I have been looking for a new car for the better part of 3 years, going back and forth between new, used and a zillion other options ranging from 4WD prowess, ground clearance, gas mileage, cargo capacity, etc. After all this time and research I decided that a CR-V is the best all around package vehicle for me. I purchased it on March 1st and have been behind the wheel ever since.
My initial reactions are very good and they have just gotten better the more I drive it. Honda continuously impresses me. The more I learn about the car and the more I drive it, the more I like it. Now I just need to take it camping to put it to the real test!

Since I'm sure everyone wants the tech specs, here they are:
-2006 Silver Honda CR-V EX 4WD M/T. bought used on 3-1-07 with 4,068 mi.

Until I get a chance to get back to my dealer's I may ask a few stupid questions to which most people would say RTFM! Well, I agree and I would, but there wasn't one in the glove box so I have to wait until I can get another one from the dealer.

First silly question: I know how Honda likes to change the color (or at least the name of the colors) pretty regularly so, which color silver CR-V do I have if it is a 2006? Alabaster Silver Metallic? Satin Silver Metallic? Sebring Silver Metallic?

Under usual circumstances I would just RTFM or search but I can't for this answer. Any Help?

Pics to follow shortly.

I bought it pretty much stock, and I have a lot of plans for it, in and out.
- Front window tint, rear privacy tint.
- Side Steps
- Roof Rack
- Multiple Outlets
- New Speakers, Amp & Sub (I’ll need help with these)
- Fog Lights
- Arm Rest
- New Center Council
- Remote Start, alarm, head unit, GPS

more to come.

Congrats! One of the 5% or less that have a manual tranny, at least in the US.

Here is a link to the on-line owner's manual:

https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/RJAAI001_OMANUAL.asp

When reading it, you will come across a page that states that the owner's manual is to be considered a part of the car. Tell your dealer that and that you shouldn't have to pay for it. (If you bought it from a Honda dealer)

One of the bigger contributing factors to my purchase. I wanted a 4cyl to be more gas and environmentally friendly and I also didn't want to sacrifice performance so a MT was necessary for me w/ the I4. BTW htey told me at teh dealership that Honda made 1M/T for every 2,500 A/T... interesting

And thanks for the quick info. With any product ( I buy) I like to know as much about it as I can, so the digital manual will be very helpful.

When I bought the car they said it came with 2 keys/fobs and a manual. When I go back to pick up the rest of the paperwork they'll have the manual and extra key waiting for me.

Thanks for the information. I just bought a 2006 CR-V EX and I noticed there was not a owner's manual and the dealer told me I could buy one. I thought that was odd and will be sure to call him tomorrow and request a manual.

Glad to help. Fill out your location in your profile so we won't have to guess where in the world you are. Then, take a nice picture or two of your V with some nice, local to you scenery in the background.

Hi,
I'm new here...
Does anyone know of a St. Louis area CR-V or Honda club? I am thinking about buying a 2001 with quite a few miles on it - looking for advice on trustworthy dealerships and perhaps a mechanic to inspect a used CR-V...
Thanks!
