Just ordered a Honda keyless entry kit from H and A. p#168618

I liked the fact that they had a link for the complete install instructions.
Looks like this is just plug and play, after removing the storage box under the radio.

After replacing the driver side door lock with a new cylinder, I though this might prevent the same problem from happening again. The old lock cylinder would not allow the key to be inserted. Plus keyless entry is just so nice to have......

Yes, I did this on my 2004. It is plug and play - a very easy install.

Good luck!

Good to know the install won't be too bad.

Did you get batteries with the remotes? If you don't mind me asking.

Received my order from H and A Accessories for a keyless entry for a 2002 Honda CRV LX. I recieved my order Friday. The package arrived on time and undamaged.

The install instructions from the web site were great (from Honda). It only took about 15 minutes to install by following the detailed instructions. The keyless kit contained 2 remotes, batteries, control module, and instructions on install and programming and the orginal booklet from Honda on keyless entry.

Only problem with the install was the programming. The programming instructions supplied from H and A were missing several steps. Follow the programming instructions in the orginal Honda Keyless entry book sent with the order not H and A programming instructions. This will save wasted time and frustration.

All in all, excellent product, service, and shipping. I would order from H and A again.

Hi,

Sorry for the difficulty with the instructions. Which steps from Honda's instructions were you referring to that ours were missing?

Trevor,

I don't have the booklet and install sheet in front of me. I'll get back with you tomorrow about which steps were missing. I belive the last couple steps were missing. No big deal, but I'll let you know tomorrow.

Thanks,

The H and A instructions were great through step 5.

I got to the "programmiung mode" following the H and A instructions. But after that I had a problem.

In the Honda insructions they tell you to repeat steps 2-12 again before moving on to 13; which is the same as doing steps 1-4 on the H and A instructions.

Insert a new step into the H and A instructions after step five, something like this......

5. (Stays the same)

6. Repeat steps 1 through 4. (New)

7. (Old step 6)

I think that's right.....

No big deal as long as you always get the OEM Honda instructions with every kit.

Now how about a deal on a Cargo Mat for a 2002 Honda CRV LX?

I see where in our instructions it says to repeat 2 & 3 three times, which would end with the key in the off position and it should stay in the on position on the last one. It doesn't tell you till step 5 to leave the key on.

You don't actually have to repeat the full steps 2-12 unless you exit the programming mode, which turning the key off after the locks cycle would cause it to exit that mode.

We'll update the instructions.

I'm also adding at the bottom of the detailed instructions a quick list of the steps for programming:

Key Off, Key On, Press Lock Button, Key Off, Key On, Press Lock Button, Key Off, Key On, Press Lock Button, Key Off, Key On, Press Lock Button (locks make a sound), Press the Lock button on each remote one at a time (locks will sound with each press), Key Off. Done.

Hi, just joined this club. So far ran my CR-V around 47K miles in 8 years time. It is mostly local driving. No troubles so far and suddenly things changed.

Phase I
Replaced break pads and O2 sensor. Avoided getting it done at dealer. Purchased OEM sensor, pads and got the work done at local machine shop. Thanks to the help I received here.

Phase II
I am planning to get this keyless entry and install myself.

1. I also have door lock cylinder not working for driver door. Using from passenger door for entry right now. Do I need to replace this for keyless to work? Or I can install keyless and bypass replacing Passenger front door lock actuator?

2. Front passenger door does not get locked with all others when I close all using front driver seat tab. Do I need to replace Passenger front door lock actuator to fix this?

Thank you.
