View Full Version : Making your own '07 cargo shelf?

I am considering creating my own cargo shelf for my new '07. Has anyone else tried/considered this? I feel it would probably be quite easy. One question though, my LX has hooks that run along the ridge where the shelf would rest. Are these just snap-on? I don't want to force them off if they are glued or bolted.

This illustration is from an 07 LX (slhondaparts.com) but I can't make out what may be the hooks to tell if they are bolted, etc. on? Since you have an 07, you may be able to figure out the hooks from this.

The hooks are attached from the back with screws. I ordered one to check it when we were thinking of offering the shelves online.

Then it may be easier to cut divots around the hooks when I make the shelf. Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to post pics once it's done. In fact, it's given me an idea. The hooks could be utilized to ancor a mesh cover for anything placed on the shelf. This could help to prevent things from shifting around.

Now... transferring the curve onto the pattern should be fun...:confused:

Hey Trevor, do you guys sell aftermarket cargo trays? I just bought an '07 CR-V for my wife (EX-L 2WD), but she doesn't like the black one Honda offers. She wants gray to match the interior. Looked on Ebay, but only Honda ones. Thanks man.

We only have the Honda tray. I'm not familiar with a good source to recommend for an aftermarket one.

Hey Trevor, couldn't find any aftermarket trays anywhere, so told my wife it was Honda's or nothing.
I ordered that plus many other items from your website yesterday. Thanks for replying buddy. Take care.

FYI - I was going to make one. However, somebody is selling aftermarket cargo shelfs that are somewhat better then OEM honda in certain ways.
