I have an 07 Element SC. My wifes 07 CRV EXL w/o nav has a nice sounding stereo but not even close to my SC. There is an option to put a base speaker system in it. Has anyone here done the install of this factory upgrade(dealer upgrade)? If so any tips for the MOD, also how much did it improve the sound. Any info would be great....................

I have the upgraded speakers in my '07. The subwoofer is under the passanger seat. The sound quality is good if you are in the front....in the back is another story. It seems to me that most of the speakers are in the front.....at least that is what it sounds like. I have tried fading it to the back, but the sound quality is horrible in the speakers in the back....not as clear and weak in the bass. I am glad I have the upgraded ones though....I love to listen to mine loud....my iPod sounds crystal clear...XM sounds low grade and the FM is not bad. CD is good as well.

Thanks for the reply I'm hoping to install them soon. I didnt know that there was a base under the pass. seat. I tought it was just the two door speakers with an amp under the seat. Thanks again...

Installed the Base speaker system today. This install was a breeze. The factory instuctions were right on the money with one exeption. Before you disconect the battery in the first couple of steps shift the CR-V into D1. The difference in sound was amazing. The Wifey is happy. Now my E can get its foglights.

Curious...

Why would putting the transmission into D1 before removing the battery cable do anything?

Well after rolling down the back windows they want you to diconect the Battery. Then they want the vehicle in D-1 to make room for removing the Temp control panel, and radio. But with the battery disconected it wont shift.
