Hopefully, someone can help me here.

I want to trade in my 2006 Nissan Murano SL AWD. Based from KBB, I set my asking price for the trade btwn 25-26 grand. (The MSRP was over 36 grand a year ago  )

Will a Honda dealer be willing to do this?? ...being that the 2007 EX-L I want has an MSRP of 28 grand??

This is my first post. Hello to all! I'm a Honda fan. Still have a 99 Civic and traded in an 04 Element for the Murano.

I'm not too happy with the MPG I'm getting with the Murano. 10-11 mpg with 95% city driving. That combined with having to use premium fuel isn't too easy on the pockets. The V6 engine is great though; I love the power. I really don't need it, so I figured I wouldn't be losing much by going back to a 4 cylinder. It'll drop the insurance and car payment down, too. :D

I can't really answer your questions, but I wanted to thank you for your post. I have always wanted a Murano....I love how they look.....but went for the Honda because of price. From what you are saying I didn't make a bad move.

As to the more economical part, do the math on the gas savings. I wouldn't use more than 18 city or 24 highway for the V's part of the equation.

Example:

You drive 1000 miles per month, regular gas costs $2.50 gallon, premium costs $2.70 gallon and drive only in the city with 11mpg in the Murano and 18 in the V.

Murano - 1000 miles = 91 gallons fuel, $245 monthly fuel cost
CR-V - 1000 miles = 55 gallons fuel, $138 monthly fuel cost

$107 monthly fuel savings. Adjust the numbers for your own driving and fuel costs. Call you insurance agent too and see if the V is cheaper to insure too.
