Is the 2006 CR-V susceptible to the oil filter leak problem on the initial oil change? I'm referring to the publicized problem where the OM gasket sticks to the engine block. I've seen references to the 2003, 2004 and 2005 model year in NHTSA report EA04-027.
I have a 2006 CR-V that was manufactured in England.
Just wondering what Honda did to fix the problem. My understanding is that the gaskets on domestic (North America) filters are manufactured differently and do not stick to the block.
What did Honda do (if anything) differently on the 2006 CR-Vs to prevent the problem?

I haven't heard anything on 2006. Even so, it only happened, sometimes and only if the tech didn't bother to properly do the oil change to begin with. Meaning that the tech didn't bother to check that the gasket was completely removed in the first place. It tended to only happen at fast oil change places.
Honda changed the gasket material to fix the issue.

Yes. The incidents were quite rare, less than 300 cars affected out of almost 300,000 produced in 2003 and 2004, so the odds are less than .001%.
(I'm rounding the numbers a little).
Just wondering if anyone was aware if the sticking gasket problem remained on 2006s. I haven't seen any reports on the '06 CR-Vs posted anywhere...
