That's a great video. I remember seeing it for the first time quite a while ago but it never gets old. Seems I recall reading somewhere about how many takes it took to get it right.

Some background:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The film took 606 takes. On the first 605 takes, something, usually very
minor, didn't work. They would then have to set the whole thing up again.

The crew spent weeks shooting night and day. By the time it was over, they
were ready to change professions.

The film cost six million dollars and took three months to complete
including full engineering of the sequence. In addition, it's two minutes
long so every time Honda airs the film on British television, they're
shelling out enough dough to keep any one of us in clover for a lifetime.

However, it is fast becoming the most downloaded advertisement in Internet
history. Honda executives figure the ad will soon pay for itself simply in
"free viewings" (Honda isn't paying a dime to have you watch this
commercial!).

Wagon. Not in the U.S. Unfortunately. This is a Honda UK ad.

... and a couple of years old. It IS a nice looking wagon though.

Are you sure that above blurb about 606 takes applies to *This* commercial? It looks rather animated to me, with the speakers under the windshield being a rather large give away.

There was an older ad for an older accord wagon that was very similar which was indeed actually filmed. This one doesn't look like it though.

Why are the speakers a large give away? A few blasts of deep bass and a curved windshield would make a barely balanced item move right away. Just because the bass isn't deep sounding thru the internet doesn't mean it wasn't moving.
