I have an occational knocking noise when I make a low speed turn. When it happens there is only one knock. Sometimes I hear it when backing out of a parking place while turning the wheel. I was wondering if it may be a loose strut. The vehicle has 115,000 miles. Does anyone have any ideas.
Thanks

IT used to just say noise, I was sure of it. Wow, that one slipped past me.
Well if it's in the right front I'd check to see if there's a screw or bolt in that tire, and also check for a possible blow-out. Then see if there's something wrong with the power steering. You're sure it's a "knocking" noise? Not accompanied by anything else?

I believe a few members have had a similar noise and it was the swaybar end links, but there is also several TSBs that may or may not be related.

The image below is for an 04 (already had it on my computer). The end links are number 10 and 11. To get the correct image go to the link below and go backwards and choose the correct year, trim, 2WD or 4WD etc. Note, this is for US models. Other locations may differ.
I don't know how one tests the endlinks, and I am not stating that it is the problem, only offering it up as a possiblity

Yes I think you may be on to something. The noise may be in the front linkage. You can't feel it in the steering wheel and I explained it as a "knock", but it is like something may be in a slight bind and then brakes free. The brakes were serviced about 6 months ago and I have always had the dealer do the service work except for spark plugs, air filters and the wonderfully overpriced cabin fliters. I'll take it in to see if they can find the issue. I appreciate your insight and now I have some knowledge of what it could be so as not to be totally relying on them. They have been known to lead me astray at times with the $ coming out of my pocket not theirs.
Thanks again, Tightwad
