I apologize as I know this has been posted before but the search does not find it for me. I live in CT where we (obviously) have a winter season but not a lot of snow most of the time. I cannot decide about 2WD or AWD on the 2007 I am about to buy............cost/maintenance, ride, gas mileage, problems...........resale.......I appreciate ANY comments from anyone. Thanks! Pamela

Cost - $1200 more initially and every V with all wheel drive is worth at least $1200 more than the same 2wd model later on. The resale is fabulous on all wheel drive V's. It is the option that doesn't depreciate.
Maintenance - it needs a drain and fill of the rear differential fluid every 30k miles. It is easy as a DIY job.
Ride - the rear diff and propellor shaft adds about 100 pounds to the weight of the vehicle. I think it rides better than the 2wd model since the weight is positioned farther back.
Gas mileage - I think it is rated at 1mpg difference, maybe less than that.
Problems - see "Maintenance"
You probably get more snow then me, but I wouldn't go without RTAWD!

Basically, everything he said is good. I live in Maryland, and when we do have snow, it's a lifesaver. If you ever have to park outside, there is almost no way to live without it in the snow or ice. When one wheel starts spinning in the parking spot, the rear wheels kick in to pull you out. Bite the bullet and get the AWD! :)

I would go with the AWD model.
I live in the Northeast area too and working as a Park Ranger i'm required to report to work on my scheduled shift regardless of weather conditions.
I have used my AWD CR-V to drive through deep snow on unshoveled park roadways many times and had no problems. (My co-worker driving a Saturn SUV got stuck numerous times on the same road i had just travelled with no problems!!)
But Remember that just because you have All Wheel Drive doesn't mean you can drive like you normally do when there is no snow. You have to drive carefully and slowly through snow. I recomend carrying a shovel in the CR-V when traveling in snow (just in case)
