What is the real gas tank capacity?

What is the real capacity of the 2009's tank?

The manual states 15.5 gallons. With 1.0 gallons remaining, I put in 2.2 more gallons to get home, about 6 miles, then just put in another 14.5 gallons. By my estimate, after about 15 miles of driving, that should equal about 17 gallons.

When I fill the car, it just keeps taking fuel with what apperas to be no end in sight.

The most I have ever put in mine was about 14.5 gallons. The gauge read empty and I had zero miles left. Normally I don't let it get that low, but this was 2 months ago and I knew from experience that I more enough gas to get to the station that I wanted to fill up at.

That's about right. I also let mine go to 0 miles left with no bars. Tank capacity is 58 litres, filled up at 54 litres. Extra 4 litres translates to about 1 gallon, I think.

I was able to put 18.5 gallons in mine filled to the top of the fill cap with an empty tank 0 miles.

I know I am not supposed to do that but I was driving on highway right after that for at least 50 miles.

mine hold about 14ish, i dont think they have changed the capacity throughout the generations much.

Same here. I can fill 14 gallon while the display shows empty. Never tried to run beyond empty mark

I wouldn't go back to that gas station again. You got took. That happened to me once, but I didn't look at the receipt untill I was well down the road.

that's a good point actually, i've never thought about the pump being wrong. but it certainly can be. also, there is a sticker on the pumps telling who to call if you suspect a "weights and measures" violation. the gov't obviously doesn't inspect all stations all the time, but they take it very seriously when consumers report in.

A data point here: level road, no accel or decel, filled up within 1/4 miles of "0 miles" remaining and put in 14.3 gal.
