I'd say it's pretty useful, some of the threads in there started at 0 and now have over 1,000 views, some easy ones over 100. I'd say people are looking at it more than they know. It could also be because when they search for something on Google, it easily places them at CRV-OC which was one of the points I wanted to accomplish with the DIY center. I'd call it a success.;)

I wish it had a little more stuff in it. But it is useful for what its got. Maybe we should steal some DIY stuff from the EOC some guys over there do great write up's. And they have like 30K members or something like that.

everyone is welcome to post them, as long as it applies to the cr-v or general use.

Maybe I'll look for some because they have done repainting the outside bumpers and the interior plastics.

Ask them if you can borrow them and copy them. That will be fine, as long as you ask.

I am a member there so I am sure they will give them to me Lizzurd may be able to get them though because he mods on there too. But I would hate to bug him.

I'm sure he may be happy to transfer some useful stuff. Just make sure it's universal to Cr-v's and Elements, no "how to switch the headlights out of your Element" not so useful here:D

I think that the only one that would push the envelope would be one about the Hellement. A turbo 6 speed element. I also think that they have one on converting a 5 speed to a 6 speed and it is universal to the 2002-2006 MT CRV's
I'll check it out this weekend to see what is useful. The actually have some good stuff on there thats why I joined.

It's helpful, but why have two? There's the DIY Center, then there's the Do-It-Yourself/Mods.... That will be confusing when someone's tryin to quickly search for a DIY job and can't find or remember which of the two forums to check

Find the post about pulling the radio out of a third gen in the DIY/mod section... Oh... it's 5 pages back in obscure land. The point of the DIY center is for unaltered information with no replies to reference the actual DIY work. IT is actually numerically working because the stuff in the DIY center has more veiws per thread then there are members, meaning people searching for how to do the stuff online are finding it, as well as the members, so I'd say it's helpful.

Here are some ideas that I got from the EOC the last coupple of days
6 speed M/T conversion (lists parts and how to do it no pics)
A DIY on how to paint your rims (write up and pics)
Suspention lift (write up and pics)
and Tinted tails (a little write up with pics)
I am going to PM Lizzurd and see what he says. I think It may be impossible because their format of the site is a little different and they have members with different names but it is worth a shot:)

You can ask the members to copy the posts and Lizzurd can post them here.

Why is it they can be not so serious... why is everyone here trying to be serious all the time. We can have fun...
I saw all their DIYs... and the people there actually do stuff.

Thats why I joined. It makes the searches a little easier and they have a ton of good info.

Blinking side markers? Are you going to drill holes on both sides? Like the foreign Vs have them?

Why would you look at the DIY if you hate the DIY center? I'm messing with you. I'd like to know how to do it too.

You gotta get the clear or smoked side marker trim. You could probably mod the rear lights in the back bumper to flash on and off with your directionals and put them on the front pannel
Serj22
05-05-2009, 01:22 AM
I think someone on here turned the rear reflectors into turn signals or brake lights or something on their Gen 3. I want cooler reflectors on the back, maybe the striped hazard kind.

GTCB-chris

i need to figure out a color i can have until i can get the money up for a pro paint job. im thinking just a black primer for the time being :( i really just need to fill my dents and gouges.

Black primer is a sick color, paint shark's teeth on it and you'll be set.

Oh ok. I'm also interested in having mine blink on the rear bumper... Let me know. ;) Isn't there clear side markers available on ebay to make the blinking rear side markers look better?

It would be neat if they were merged. But then it would become super honda or hondasuv in no time. Nice Pic

Yup, and hondasuv.com is filled with people who disagree with everything I do to my car, and are mean in general, though there are nice people there. I get sick of the "manual better than automatic" argument there too. That's why I stopped participating in their boards. Superhonda is slightly okay for information, till you get tired of porn all over a forum, and "do a head swap" or "do an engine swap" any time you have a serious question.
Both sites caused me to reside here, and only here. Hondasuv can stay on topic a little better. Superhonda is mostly meaningless banter and trash talk, except for the Cr-v forum on there, which hasn't been used since the pyramids were built.

haha, superhonda is useless. and honda suv reminds me of honda tech, too much and not enough information

That is so true but I know what you mean. I would kill for a 5 speed but would rather have a 6 speed.
