I can't decide how to vote. I personally have no interest in live chat, but if it will reduce some of the the thread hijacking then go for it.

I have 100% guarantee it will not prevent thread hijacking, but it might reduce it. Once the topic of the thread has been covered people just converse on it, which isn't bad, and it can be fun for people, as long as the conversations don't get out of hand like racism and advanced political arguments, then it can get back on track fairly quick.

we could all just join skype for free. then we have free audio and visual comunication. i'm with BP one this one it doesn't seem very practical. now a person can ask a question a 10:00 PM and have it answered by noon the next day. with live chat the people have to be on constantly and other then a few people with too much free time no one really seems to be on here. we have about 7,000 members and maybe 2,000 people are regular active users.

I don't know if the visual thing would be a good idea.... what if spammers got a hold of the technology, or exhibitionists, if you know what I mean.

Speaking of friends. What exactly does it mean when you have a request for friend? I have had three of these and I click around until the damn thing is satisfied and then go on my way. What exactly am I agreeing to just out curiosity sake?
