i have recently removed the rear driveshaft because of vibration propblems in the rear of the vehicle if anyone has had the simular problems i am very interested what you did to fix the problem but any ways i have been getting 27-32 miles per gallon by removing the rear driveshaft compared to the 17 miles per gallon with the driveshaft on this does not effect the drivetrain it just makes your crv a two wheel drive

What year is your crv?
I didnt know that could be done. Any other issues came out
after removing the rear drive shaft? We'd like to hear about
any issues after the removal. Thanks..........

I must confess I am amazed at the difference in you gas mileage by pulling the front shaft.
Are you running the same size wheels and tires on the front and back. I can see removal of the shaft giving you a MPG or two but 10 to 15? Wow!
It almost seems to me that you car has been forced into 4WD all the time. If the front wheels are smaller than the rear it can force the dual pump system into 4WD. Otherwise I would suspect that the clutch pack must be jammed into a constant engagement to a 4WD state.
Welcome to the club and good luck with your repair.

I'm getting 14.5 mpg in my 2005 v, could anyone help me to know if my v is forced into 4WD all the time??? what I can check if this could be happening??
like reference, I put all 4 brand new michelin tires (like manual clamis, 215/65R15 98T) in original wheels

That is because it is impossible. There has to be an error with the calculation, fuel used, time of year, etc.

Check your tire pressure and adjust your driving habits.
It shouldn't be "stuck" in 4WD.
