View Full Version : Scratches from dealer
Maybe after a week of our delivery I noticed scratches on the roof, C-pillar and the hood that were left behind from the dealers removing the protective film. I called the dealership and was advised to use wax to remove any remaining film (they don't think its scratches) which I did. It did remove the left over film, but the scratches were actually scratches where some film was left over. what should I do

Taking it back in and showing them the scratches is probably best. If they are not too deep, they might just try and buff them out.
Almost forgot.
Welcome! Good to see someone from Hawaii.

Taking your CRV back to the dealer is a very good suggestion. In combination of this, I would also take picutres of the scratches for your records. Also, I would get this documented at the dealership to leave a paper trail, just in case you have to contact Honda of America itself concerning the issue.

When I got my CR-V 2 weeks ago, I also notice a light scratch at the bottom of the body side moulding. I guess they scratched when they clean the side before they put on the moulding. I spoke to the dealer and they can't buff it out, so I call honda of america and file a claim. The case manager told that I can bring it back to the dealer and have them repaint the door or take it to a body shop and they will reimburse me. So I would call Honda of America first and see if you can take it to a body shop. They do much better job than the dealers. Hope this helps.

I too found a little paint flaw of the size of a small eraser head on the rear driver side door on my new '07. My wife had a shape eye and pick it up during delivery and since it's under the clearcoat, they couldn't bluff it out, eventually my dealer had to pay for a body shop to repaint the whole door. $500, ouch! I didn't go through HOA so I guess it depends on how each dealership handles issues. A lot of times that we guys are so excited at our new toy and just want to drive it off at once and don't check it carefully during delivery. There is a good reason to take the gf/wife when picking up. :)
