Yakima Racks and OEM Weight Capacity

I know that Yakima's website doesn't yet show the 2007 CRV set up, but to my untrained eye the landing pads used on 2006 models look like they would work. Has anyone done this yet, or know what, if any, set up from Yakima works on a 2007?

If nothing, what is the real weight capacity of the OEM bars for the 2007? The Honda website says 165 lbs, but everywhere I've seem them for sale says 75 lbs.

I too would like to know if the 2006 fitment works. I sent an e-mail to Yakima, see my question and there responce below. I want a setup that mounts to the factory location not some bogus door jam mount work around. A frined of a friend owns a bike shop and they sell limited yakima components. If he has the 2006 fitment in stock he may let me borrow it to test fit. Yes, I will post an update once I know more.

My wife and I purchased a 2007 Honda CRV back in November of 2006 and
already have a Yakima rack system that we would like to use on this
vehicle. Does Yakima have any plans to crate a fitment for the 07 CRV? Our
local dealer, John at Collinsville Canoe and Kayak, was hesitant to try
the 2006 CRV fitment due to Yakima not yet listing it as the proper fitment; do you believe it would work? We have been waiting for this fitment to be
listed for some time now and have not been able to go kayaking due to no
means of transporting our boats. At this point I am willing to volunteer
my vehicle for test fitting of the 2006 fitment or a new setup if that
would help speed up its release.


Yakima responce:

We do not have a rack for that vehicle that fits into the factory mounting points yet. Honda changed the design for 2007, so we need to come up with a different attachment and don't expect to have that available until this fall.

We do however, have a way of putting Yakima bars on that vehicle using our Q Tower system. You would need 1 set of 4 Q Towers, 1 pair of Q-99 clips, 1 pair of Q-131 clips, and a minimum of 58" crossbar. This system will hold up to 125 lbs., and clip directly into the door frame of the vehicle.
