I borrowed this idea from the EOC. Three years and almost 4500 posts later this thread is still going strong.

How are you doing, CRVers?

That's the purpose of this thread. Please use it to check in for the day. Tell us what's up with you. How's work or school? How are your kids? Have you got anything fun planned for the day? How's the weather? Are you mad at the cable company or have you found a particularly good peanut butter cookie recipe? This is the place to share that and more and let your fellow CRVers know what's up with you.

Well, today my wife comes home from helping her grandma clean her house this weekend(she never cleans so she goes over there to make sure she's not living in filth - it gets pretty gross over there) I'm going to go to yet another semester of college in the fall, while it is required for work to do at least 40 hours a year, I might do a little more.

Right now I am also helping my dad restore a 60's Chris Craft and helping him build cabinets for a house in Monterey.

As for the car, I got done ordering a bunch of stuff on E-bay, and it is due for a cleaning! I have never seen more dirt on it in my life, since i had to park at the shop a few times and it's a totally a dust bowl out there, and I wish the landlord would pave it, but I won't complain, because he's a really nice guy, and lets us use his forklifts and pretty much anything else.

My Wife just finished her class to be a Certified EMT, and she will be taking the National Registry test to start work as such.

That's about what's up with me right now. And I did see this thread on the EOC, but I didn't know what it was about.

I had to get up at 8 today. Last night my finace was checking the coolant in the crv, well he opened the car door, popped the hood then locked the car. He set my keys under the hood and checked the fluid (he saw some on the outside so was seeing if it was a leak or just a spill from topping it off) Well I guess when he was done he closed the hood, forgetting my keys were under there.

Needless to say that was my only key. I had just got the car, and the dealer only had one, a copy that came with the car. I called pop a lock, but they told me since it was after 10pm they couldnt leave Bossier City, I live 20 miles from there in Haughton, a smaller town. So I was like wtf ever. I got up this morning and went to Holmes Honda and got them to just cut me an original. Pop a lock would have charged me $80, but since they couldnt come till after 6am, i was not about to waste that $80 when i could just wait till 8am and go get a original made for $8.

I got my new windshield at 2. =] Now i have tape on the top both sides, gotta keep it there for 2 days and cant wash it for two days. So I gotta wait a few more days to wash the car.

After that Me, my mom, and little sister went to Buffalo Wild Wongs (50 cent boneless on thursday w00t!) then we went to my aunts to show her the crv, and then back to my moms. She showed me some stuff she wanted to get for my baby shower shes hosting in August. Then I came home and watched Speeders (gotta love that show =D) and checked this fourm, my gm forum ( i had a 2001 Chevy Cavalier before the crv, buy what a change!), and my nissan forum.

Now im bout to eat, watch Dr. Phil, and do some other stuff. I pick up my 2 year old tomorrow from his dads parents house. And i start back to work Monday, since i now have a car.

Sorry, I found the mispelling funny (maybe cause I'm asian). As is, it sounds like some sort of strip joint. Joking aside, I absolutely love bw3s. Sadly, closest one to me is about an hour away.

I am currently at work at, oh, almost midnight. I got called late to prepare some things for Friday morning. Arg.

In regards to the V, I just scratched my skid plate by driving too far into a parking spot and into the cement thing that prevents the car from going off into the grass. I actually chipped part of the cement (awesome V), but scratched part of my skid plate in the process. Oh well, good thing I had that on!

Other than that, I am excited as I just received my new Weber Gold (22.5, Blue).

I just got back from the shop, and my CRV is painted, but still all apart. Its depressing, no V since April 24. My insurance still don't want to pay for damaged parts, that are not leaking and not visilbe.

Waiting to get my paycheck. Got our 5 year ann. coming up. It's going to be fun. Going to Monterey. Thinking of setting track on the Laguna Seca while we're there. Playing Call of Duty 4 now. Getting killed by 12 year-olds...

Did some house cleaning and laundry this morning. Then went to Dekalb and did some shopping, got my dog a doggie harness to hook on the seat belt so he is safer riding in the V.

Might take a nap. :)

Wow, no updates in a month?

I'm working (and scratching my head trying to understand some people), and preparing our laundry room for a new pair of appliances, front loaders. I've been having an itch to purchase a motorcycle; however it passes when I realize it's not as warm as where I once lived.

We're still considering moving to Washington. We have to plan a lot of stuff though, need to sell the Beetle, and find someone to get a truck to move the stuff that doesn't fit in the V up there.

This is kinda like Facebook status updates... Cool.

Took the family and the 'V to check out fireworks from Fiesta Texas over the weekend. They have a fireworks show every night in the summer and now that there's a high-end mall near the park, it's very easy to catch the show for free right in the mall's lot.

Just happened to have my photo gear in the 'V that evening and made a few shots for fun.

Cameras are fun, I can't put ours down, which I'm sure everyone can tell.

Well, today sure has been fun. Like just about every day since march, I have worked on the house, getting it ready to sell. It is a strange feeling to wake up with the sounds of 8 Realtors walking into my room on their preview (thanks for the heads up phone call Mom and Dad).

So I have painted today. That's all the house is going to get out of me today. Now off to the pawn shop to see how much money I can make off of some stuff that i have had laying around for 6+ years......

Speaking of painting, we're still trying to get our house painted. We got a quote of $1,200 to paint the entire house (2100 sq ft, excluding paint costs). We've been trying to get this done for a few months now, and it's just not happening with all the other summer activities. I think I'll have to rethink about having it professionally done.

I still have the motorcycle itch (no cameras here, just not me) today.

Serj22

$1,200 isn't bad for a whole house. Paint's not as expensive if you buy a lot of it.

As for another update, my cat had 6 kittens a little while ago, and they just recently opened their eyes. We're keeping one of them and giving the rest away. Some of them are scampering and wiggling all over the floor and the mom keeps trying to put them in our closet or under chairs.

Man, painting is easy. It is time consuming, but if you take your time, mask off and such, you can do it as good as a pro. Take it one room at a time and you can knock it out.

I know how you feel. I'm looking to move somewhere else just so I can pay bills. It is rediculous where i live, and my Wife already had to take up a second job. I barely get to see her now.:(

At least you have a job, I haven't received a paycheck since April. And, my body is really hurting today. For some reason, my back is so tight I can hardly move.

On a positive note, I started painting my wheels today. I am doing them one at a time as i still have to drive. Tonight comes the spare and we'll go from there.

Make sure you put em all back in the same spot, or rotate them at least, or you'll have a weird drive. Are you sticking with the bronze painted steelie idea you were talking about?

I have already taken care of the keeping them in the right spots. And no, I went a slightly different route. I will have some pix and a how-to tomorrow. I am very excited with the turnout of the ones I have painted tonight. Time to let them cure and mount the backs and do the fronts tomorrow.

Remember to rebalance them as well. The paint isn't perfectly even and may make them off balance, but it's unlikely. I'm excited to see how they turn out.

Yesterday afternoon i got a chainguide for my downhill bike. It should have only taken me an hour at max to put this thing on but there was no directions. The guide didnt fit around my bashguard and i had no idea why. This morning i found out that i cant run it with a bashguard so after hours of doing various things to make it work i should have just googled it first. Oh well. I still need a new chain and cassette today though and then to Highland Mountain i go.

Time is the problem. With a 2 & 3 year old, it's very difficult to get things done, especially when work consumes many hours, including nights/weekends.

As for work, I'm not impressed either. I don't mind the job details, but the others I deal with are just unbearable.

With the first 3 done (rear 2 and spare) and on the truck, they look pretty tasty. I will get the fronts done tonight and will have the writeup and pictures posted tomorrow.

I can see where time it the problem. I have more than I want free. I want a job just to kill some time. It has gotten very old sitting around the house all summer.

But today should be a fun day. Mowing the front and back yards, trimming the edges, pulling and painting the front wheels and Bikes and BBQ tonight.

Make sure you clear coat them and wax them, the abrasiveness of the brake dust will tear the paint to hell if you don't. All Alloys come with a clear coat and heavy wax to keep the brake dust off, and it works fairly well.

This ain't my first rodeo....em time painting wheels. I have to wait about 72 hrs between painting and clearing (due to humidity). Due to the little driving I will be doing in this time, I will be fine putting them on the V.

Well, I got the wheels painted (to humid right now to clear and I need to be able to drive this weekend). They are back on, I have the write up done and posted. I have cleaned up the house and the yard. Man, its been a busy week.

Well we finished painting some of the rooms (kids enjoyed Dora and Diego on the DVR during this). One of the accent walls is red (Candy Apple Red to be exact), and was a pain. It needed 5-6 coats to get it done, but it looks great now. Two more rooms are left on the first floor and then we start going up the stairs.

The good news is that I didn't need to mow the yard, so that freed up 2 hours by itself.

Its wet outside, so that ended my plan to get up and knock out a quick bike ride. But I will get out tonight for about 20mi or so. Still tryin to figure out what to do this week.
