On a 09 LX 2WD
My first tank was at 28.9. I went to the same station and the computer showed 27.5. The tank was already full on the lot so it was old gas. This fill up is around 30 mpg.. for short trips.. 7 miles each way, two stop signs, several lights, and parking lots, 40-60 mph..
Even when I was on a road that caught at least 15 stop lights in 10 miles it got 26 mpg.
The dealer included nitrogen in the tires. I don't gun it off the line and try not to stop at lights.
I've also been using fully synthetic at 7,000 intervals with no prob for years. Moble one is still clear at 3500 miles.

After seeing all the discussions over here, I thought I will try my best
My CRV - 07 EXL White 33K miles
Gas - BJS gas (87 octane)
Trip: manchester CT to Boston MA ( I84 and I90 west bound) (~90 miles)
tire pressure : 34
Average speed driven - 60 mph ( covered 90 miles in 90 minutes)
Result : 35.4 mpg (see the attachment)
I was doubtful about this figure, but the amount of gas needed to fill the tank proved it correct.

hot temps will give you better mpg. On my recent trip trip of 500 miles, I averaged 27.1 mpg. I drove an average of 80 mph sometimes 85 with 5 people in the car. we have 75 F outside temp, and I have an 08 CRV.
