A deal from the Stealership

I got a pm from the stealership for, "Sport Package" sale that included the Roof Rack, Chrome Side Step Bars and the Chrome Exhaust Finisher. We're down to the last 4 sets left.
The set retails for about $1000 and is on sale for $650, then install and taxes.
So, here are the questions;
- is this a good deal
- could I do the install myself ... I can handle a drill and a screwdriver as well as follow instructions

Is the deal only good if they install it? Or will they let you by the parts and install them yourself?

Trust me....at that price they are not making much money off the parts. They may be looking to make it off the labor.

Even if you pay them to install the parts its an excellent deal.

That sounds like a really good deal.
If you negotiate with the dealer they may give you a good price.
For example, I got my roof rack for $250 (lists for $360 if I rememeber right) and 2 bike carriers for $125 each (lists for $275 each).
Sometimes all you have to do is ask.

But for that price, you could have gotten an aftermarket rack. If I had my choice, I would rather have an aftermarket rack, the only reason I have the factory rack is because my V came with it. There are more accessories available for aftermarket racks.

As to the price, that seems like a decent deal. I wouldn't let them install everything though, I would let them do what I couldn't do or didn't want to do.

I know, I could have gone aftermarket. But I wanted to stick with OEM.
And the only thing I plan on carrying up there are my bikes.

$300.02 = Installation/Labour
13% (GST/PST) = Taxes
= $1128.87
Even doing the install myself, do I realllly want to add this to the V? Resisting the temptation is tough, but it's got everything except a hitch that I want right now. So, I'll spend the $ on a hitch instead and a bike rack that fits.;)

And the labor is pretty darn high as well, IMHO.
