Hello guys. Just got my new CRV-EX 2007 last 3 weeks ago. Its my first honda and so far i'm loving it. :) Anyway, i just notice that sometimes when i step on the brake and release it, there is this bang sound like metals are hitting each other in front possibly near the axles or brake area. I remember that i experienced this driving a mitsubishi lancer 96 model. It feels like the brakes suddenly released and there this "bang" sound which you could hear it clearly even if your not the one driving. Is there anything wrong with its break? Thanks in advance.

You didn't specify WHEN you're hearing this. Hondas of late, including my ex-MDX, have a brake clanking noise similar to what you described when changing direction. What I mean is everytime you go from reverse to drive, and viceversa, the brakes clank when moving within the caliper. It's annoying, but perfectly normal... if that's what you have. Hope this helps.

It is probably a normal noise for a Honda. It may be that the sliders that the caliper moves upon need to be lubed. I do it on both of ours whenever I rotate the tires. It is very easy to do. Use molykote77 or equivalent or have the dealer do it for you under warranty.

Thanks for the response ELP. The noise happens when you step on the brake, put it on Drive, and then release the brake to move. Once i release the brake, there is this sound but not clanking. Its like the Its more of Or the sound similar to like bang and squeaking. Sorry, but its difficult to describe the sound. I did my own test, it only happens when i step on the brake pedal, shift to D, and release the brake suddenly and the sound comes out. If i realease the brake slowly the sound doesnt come out. I also observe if i step on the brake, P or N, the sound isnt there. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reponse 2RedV's. I'm just a newbie here and its my first brand new and first honda that i bought. Anyway, yes it is a clunking sound (after researching on other car forums). I was just expecting that the sound should not be there since it is new. Thanks for the tip about the lube. Anyway, i'll just have it checked to my dealer and let me see what is their diagnostics about the noise. At least i have an idea because of your help guys. Thanks a lot. :)
