Stuck driveaxle

2005 CR-V
Can't seem to free the front passenger-side driveaxle from the midshaft bearing. Two questions:
1. Any tricks to getting that driveaxle off? There doesn't seem to be a good place to get a prybar in, and yanking on it seems like a bad idea...
2. Can I just remove the entire driveaxle and intermediate shaft from the transmission, without too much fuss? Or better to just focus on separating the driveaxle from the bearing?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Got it. Had to take the dust shield off and get a prybar in there and whack it with a sledgehammer.. Came off nice and clean.

'Whacking' at or near a bearing is not the best idea if you are not replacing the bearing. Sometimes hidden damage of the race or cup will make it fail prematurely.

Will it help you take it apart, absolutely. :D
