2RedV's

These are some of the most commonly asked questions from people that have recently purchased a new CR-V.Maybe this will help a few people understand their noises and not worry about them, saving a trip to the dealership. Some of these are even listed in the Owner's manual.
Feel free to post your "noises" too. I know there are some more.
Here are some quick examples...
The first time after starting it I put the car in drive and when I hit about 10mph it makes an electrical buzzing sound. ABS check
After backing up and then selecting drive, usually the first time in the morning, I hear a clunk from the rear brakes. The sliders on the calipers may need to be lubed.
I hear an electrical noise from behind the dash, near the shifter at about 6mph. Reverse lockout solenoid engaging.
I hear hissing sounds from under the hood every time I shut off the car, sometimes lasting for 20 seconds or so. Vacuum and/or AC system releasing pressure.
My CR-V makes a whining noise when I have it in reverse. All Honda auto trannies do this. It is a different style of design than most other manufacturers.
If you are experiencing the high pitched squeal feedback noise, the posts have been moved to this thread:
