The manual for the navigation system in my new '07 CRV says that remote starters and radar detectors can interfere with the satellite signals depending on location. It doesn't give real good specifics on where to locate a remote starter and I wanted to have one installed. I know very little about remote starts and what all is involved with installation.

Any help or suggestions?

Thanks,

I think that you will encounter worse issues with the immobilizer. In order for a remote start to work in the 07 V, the second key needs to be hidden somewhere in the vehicle. This means that the immobilizer feature becomes worthless.

On to the questions...

Why do you want a remote starter? I hope it isn't for "warm-ups" in the winter as your new V is designed to be started and almost immediately driven. Warming up a Honda isn't good for it and simply wastes fuel. It warms up faster when driven (and that's in the manual)

Yeah, I tend to drive my cars warm, but when there's a sheet of ice or heavy frost it can be hard to see. I didn't get to the part in the manual yet about it being bad for the vehicle to let her idle warm while the ice melts or at least softens. Usually when it's bad I'll start 'em up and leave it sit for a few with the defrost on full blast. This will loosen up the ice and it's a lot easier to remove.

Actually, I'm kinda glad you brought up the point. Guess I'll have to show the wife where it says that in the manual and save $300, huh? :D

What year and model did you have it installed on? Was it on an '07 with the Nav? If so, any issues?

Does honda cr-v needs a bypass module. Since one of the key will be hidden inside the car, Is it possible to get an extra key done outside.

I had a remote starter put on my 2007 EX-L with Navi. I haven't had any problems at all. I got it at Circuit City. A Python model. Yes you need to use your valet key.
