View Full Version : LPG Conversion?
Hello, I've recently bought a 2004 CR-V and am delighted with it. I have been thinking of getting an LPG conversion done on it. I read in one post here that it can ruin the valves. Does anyone have any long term experience of using a CR-V converted to LPG? According to some of the LPG conversion sites I have visited, CR-Vs have been converted - but, of course, they're not going to say it's not a good thing!
Cheers and thank you.

I'm not sure LPG will work with a fuel injected engine? Would be very expensive conversions! Hal

it can be done, i have seen it done many times. the only problem is you could have to have a LPG tank in your cabin, and thats a bad idea, with that said it CAN be done, but its up to you if you want a pressurized canister of highly flammable and poisonous gas in your passenger cabin.

Just curious...but why is this desireable??? I thought LP was generally even more expensive than gasoline per equivalent unit of energy. Not to mention the major inconvenience and safety issues of using LP and retrofitting the car.

I agree with MotoGuy........why would you want to change to LPG?........poor safety record.........kinda like driving an unexploded bomb or so I'm told.

I drive an 03 CRV and I've converted it to run bi-fuel (Gasoline and Autogas).
I'm using a "Donut" or torroidal tank mounted at the unused tire well. I'm using a 3rd generation LPG injection kit. Its what they call a multi-point injection kit. There were 4 holes drilled on the alloy spacer between the plastic intake manifold and cylinder head.
The install was done under my supervision by the installers. The components were mounted in places that I suggested.
BTW, I was also able to get the tuning software and cable from the main supplier. That makes it possible for me to tune the fuel/injection maps.

Do you have any pictures of where it's run into the manifold and the tank in the spare tire area? I'm curious to see.
