My driver side door lock won't lock when I push down on the button from the inside. It goes down but it goes back up again. It'll lock when I use the key fob. I got the "V" 2 weeks ago and I can't believe this happened already. I am out off the regular warranty but I have the extended warranty I need to transfer.
Defective door lock actuator? Help!
It's supposed to do that, so you don't lock your keys in the car. The fact that your doors will lock with the remote and/or the lock switch, tells you they work. No problems here.

If you hold the outside door handle up, push the lock button down, and close the door with the outside handle still up, it will remain locked. < WHEW >
As TKCR said, that's so you will not lock the keys in the car...
I'm having a brain fart here. But I think if you have the keys in the ignition, it will lock manually. If they are out, in your hand, it won't.
Try it and see what it does.:D

I see what is happening thanks for pointing it out. You can lock and unlock by holding up on the inside door handle as well.
